Min Hee-jin, CEO of Adore, a subsidiary that is in conflict with Hive, Korea’s largest entertainment agency that includes the group BTS, said she hopes the dispute will stop in public.
Representative Min appeared on CBS Radio’s ‘Kim Hyun-jung’s News Show’ on the 26th and said, “I was hit once too, right? It’s childish so let’s stop now. “I wish the disputes would stop in front of the public,” he said. “Why do we have to be judged by public opinion in front of people who don’t even know what’s right or wrong between us?”
Regarding the takeover of management rights, CEO Min explained Hive’s management structure and said, “Anyway, we have to get confirmation (approval) from Hive,” and “Hive owns 80% of Adore’s shares.” There is nothing I can do with this stake. “No matter who we bring in, we have to get confirmation from Hive.”
When asked whether the host had ever made any attempt in relation to the suspicion of stealing management rights, he responded, “Of course. “I have never had contact with anyone,” he said.
Regarding the fact that Hive presented a document containing plans to sell stocks to overseas funds while conducting an audit of Adore, CEO Min said, “I don’t know much about this field,” but added, “Running a company and mergers and acquisitions “(M&A) and investments are completely different fields, so I’m actually completely ignorant,” he said.
At the same time, he pointed out that the “intention is strange” regarding the disclosure of the contents of the conversation.
Representative Min said, “It was so scary to not only hear about but actually experience the strange power of power that judges people for any purpose or frame,” and “I also thought, ‘Do I have to do this?’”
Regarding the press conference that lasted over two hours, he said, “It was really my first and possibly last opportunity,” and added, “I was always honest, and I thought it was better to just be honest.”
Regarding the conflict between Hive and Adore that arose ahead of New Jeans’ comeback, CEO Min said, “That was the thing I didn’t understand the most. He expressed his doubts, saying, “If it comes up at this point, don’t you know for sure that (I) won’t be able to work?”
He said about this incident, “It was the worst experience of my life,” and “Our member said, ‘CEO, I’m filming a drama right now,’ and told me to just imagine it to myself.”
On the 22nd, Hive began an emergency audit after reporting that Adore’s CEO Min and Vice President A attempted to seize management rights. Afterwards, on the 25th, they announced that they had secured evidence of breach of trust by Adore’s board members, including CEO Min, through an interim audit report, and reported them to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on the afternoon of the same day on charges of breach of trust.
