New Delhi: Cricket greats Courtney Walsh, Dilip Vengsarkar and former Indian player RP Singh on Wednesday launched the franchise T20 cricket league ‘Big Cricket League’ (BCL). This league will fulfill the dream of local players besides providing them a chance to play with their cricket heroes.
Former India player RP Singh is the founder and president of BCL. This league will include 60 local Indian cricketers and 48 former international and domestic players. 6 franchises Awadh Lions, Mumbai Marines, Rajasthan Kings, Southern Spartans, Bengal Rhinos and Northern Challengers will play 18 T20 matches in the first season of BCL.

World Cup-winning Indian batsman Vengsarkar and legendary West Indies fast bowler Walsh are also associated with the BCL, serving as league commissioner and vice-president respectively. Singh said, ‘We have seen so many talented cricketers who could not fulfill their dreams. BCL will provide a platform to these local cricketers to showcase their talent and experience playing with their heroes.
Vengsarkar also agreed, saying, ‘This is not just another competition. It will provide a platform to those who missed the opportunity due to various reasons. They will also showcase the depth of cricket talent in India. Walsh said, ‘We will see some great matches in which some heroes will be found and they will inspire the new generation of players around the world. ,
