Minister of Communications reviews with the Finance Committee the revenues achieved during the current government

Today, Thursday, Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri reviewed with the head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, the revenues achieved during the current government.

The ministry said in a statement received by the (INA): “Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri received at the ministry’s headquarters MP Atwan Al-Atwani, head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee,” noting that “during the meeting, a number of important topics were discussed, most notably the government’s efforts to maximize non-oil revenues, which resulted in a significant increase in the revenues of the Ministry of Communications.”
She added, “The increase in revenues of the public companies affiliated with the ministry during the current government period and until the middle of this year amounted to the following:
– 100% Telecommunications Company
– Postal company 200%
– Al Salam Company 150%
She added, “In addition to implementing fiber optic lines to provide high-speed Internet service in the amount of three and a half million lines, after there were only one million lagging lines.”
He pointed out that “a hundred-fold increase in the passage of international Internet capacities (transit) through Iraq was achieved to maximize revenues and enhance Iraq’s geographical position, as more than (1000) gigabytes were passed for the first time in the history of the ministry until the middle of this year after it was only (10) gigabytes.”
She pointed out that “these achievements come as a result of the great efforts made by the Minister, the Ministry’s advanced management team and its honorable employees in combating financial and administrative corruption, establishing new strategic projects, developing and supporting existing projects, and overcoming the difficulties and obstacles they face.”
For his part, Al-Atwani praised the “Minister’s efforts to improve the level of services provided in the communications sector and support the state treasury, wishing her to achieve more accomplishments in the service of the public interest.”
