Ministry of Education leads periodic actions to monitor and effectively manage school feeding

The monitoring of the School Feeding Program (PAE) aims to identify improvement actions that provide an efficient and quality service to the beneficiaries.

To ensure that the Cali School Feeding Program (PAE) is one of the best in the country, the Ministry of Education and the four program operators began working groups in order to reach agreements that allow excellence in the provision of This service, aimed at all students of official educational institutions – IEO.

Tatiana Aguilar Rodríguez, Secretary of District Education, indicated during the meeting with the Temporary Unions (UT) Action for Colombia, Valle Solidario, Cultivo Porvenir and NutriCali, that some observations have been presented by the IEOs regarding the operation. of the PAE, which must be solved to benefit the beneficiary boys and girls, given that this program is part of the school access and permanence strategy.

It is worth remembering that the School Feeding Program will benefit 163,000 students who are enrolled, to date, in SIMAT.

Fran Aníbal Mesías, Undersecretary of Educational Coverage, expressed that “the idea of ​​this meeting is to follow up on the findings identified by the field supervision team of the educational organization during visits to the different school sites. Likewise, socialize the operators’ reports regarding each new development that occurs during the supply of school feeding.”

Such surveillance makes it possible to maintain control and organization over the program, facilitating the timely identification of setbacks that allow corrective measures to be taken.

Among the findings shared at the work table, the importance of efficiently monitoring kitchen utensils, reviewing the status of the food that the students are going to consume with their respective verification of expiration dates of the products, such as like dairy.

“I recommend that you strictly monitor all kitchen utensils and food. I have been visiting different educational institutions in the morning to verify this issue, where I have had the opportunity to listen to the opinions of students about the quality of school feeding. For many, it is the only meal they consume during the day, which is why it is a priority that our children have access to a good plate of food,” concluded Tatiana Aguilar, Secretary of Education.
