Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir is again inciting common students with false information. The blueprint to bring Tariq Rahman from London to power has become clear in front of the nation today.
Urging the countrymen not to listen to rumours, he said, ‘Rumors are a terror, like drugs. Rumors can lead your child to doom. So this rumor has to be prevented.’
He said these things at a discussion meeting with Awami League leaders of Mirpur, Pallabi, Badda, Mugda areas at the Dhaka district Awami League office in Tezgaon of the capital on Thursday (July 25).
Obaidul Quader said that the path to peaceful democracy is not BNP-Jamaat. They want to wreak havoc in the country and seize power through bloodshed. They don’t want elections, they don’t want democracy. They want to come to power in a terrorist way, by arson and rampage in secret ways.
General secretary of Awami League expressed the fear that there may be more terrorist activities and said, ‘The situation is peaceful today, but this is not the end. But they are sitting on the edge. They are sitting on the fence, making things worse. How can Mirza Fakhrul say that BNP does not believe in arson. If there was a Nobel Prize for this lie, it would have been given to Mirza Fakhrul.’
By asking questions to Mirza Fakhrul Islam, he said, BNP does not commit arson! Who did it in 2013? Who did it in 2014? Who did it in 2015? BNP has brought back the look of those old days.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘BNP-Jamaat is the leader of this movement. As long as there were students in this movement, there was no violence in Bangladesh, the police also played a tolerant role. All parties have been patient. Armed cadres of BNP-Jamaat carried out targeted attacks in this movement. It is perfectly planned. Where to attack, they have prepared the blueprint in advance and rehearsed it for months.’
He said, ‘A few days ago, BNP committees were appointed in various places including Dhaka city. Deployed them to conduct this attack. They are deployed systematically, where to attack, who to cooperate, all blueprints are made in advance.
Obaidul Quader said, ‘Army is working with great responsibility. There is no precedent of the army firing a shot to calm the situation during the curfew.’
Awami League presidium member Abdur Razzak, joint general secretary Mahbub ul Alam Hanif, AFM Bahauddin Nashim, office secretary Biplab Barua, science and technology secretary Abdus Sabur, deputy office secretary Sayem Khan and other central leaders were present in the exchange meeting.
