Mirzapur: The Movie has surged to a worldwide gross of Rs 266.04 crore by its second Sunday, driven by strong theatrical attendance across India and overseas markets. The Excel Entertainment release brings the hit streaming franchise to the big screen, outperforming initial box office expectations during its second weekend.

After capturing audiences on Amazon Prime Video, the property’s expansion into cinemas has sustained impressive momentum through its second weekend, drawing solid crowds even as competing titles entered the marketplace. The film marks the big-screen expansion of one of India’s OTT crime sagas, exploring the fight for Mirzapur’s throne in a seat of power soaked in blood and betrayal.

Box Office Numbers and Worldwide Trajectory

Trade tracking data indicates that the film held its ground remarkably well during its second weekend in theatres. The film stayed steady on its second Sunday, pushing its total worldwide collection to Rs 266.04 crore after 10 days of release. The big box office question for Mirzapur: The Movie now is whether it can turn a strong opening run into a Rs 300 crore worldwide haul.

The domestic run accounts for a significant share of that revenue. On Day 10, the film earned Rs 13.25 crore nett across 7,225 shows in India, bringing its total India nett collection to Rs 184.70 crore and its India gross to Rs 220.04 crore. This performance followed a strong second Saturday that saw a 42.1% growth, earning Rs 13.50 crore net compared to Rs 9.50 crore on Friday, according to trade tracker Sacnilk. Overseas markets contributed an additional Rs 4 crore on Day 10, taking its overseas gross to Rs 46 crore.

Audience Turnout and Screen Distribution

Exhibition numbers reflect growing rather than waning interest over the ten-day window. Show counts expanded across the second weekend, moving from 6,763 shows on Friday to 7,183 on Saturday and peaking at 7,225 shows on Sunday. Mirzapur The Movie is showing no signs of disappearing from the big screen just yet, with audiences continuing to turn up for the big-screen return of Kaleen Bhaiya, Guddu Pandit and Munna Tripathi.

Overall occupancy rates climbed correspondingly, rising from 29 percent on Friday to 37 percent on Saturday and 38 percent on Sunday. The Hindi 2D version proved particularly popular on Sunday, recording an overall occupancy of 45.53 percent, with afternoon and evening screenings drawing the strongest response at 53 percent and 57.15 percent respectively. The strong second-weekend performance comes despite the arrival of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Haiwaan in theatres.

Industry Reception and Franchise Context

The film’s theatrical run has drawn commentary from prominent industry figures. Veteran trade analyst Taran Adarsh recently reflected on the box-office journey of Mirzapur: The Movie, writing on X:

Taran Adarsh noted that 200 crores marked the beginning of the journey, observing that #MirzapurTheMovie continued its winning run by registering substantial growth on the second Saturday and crossing the ₹ 175 crore mark, while the march towards the ₹ 200 crore net mark had begun. He added that the exceptional performance of #HanumanAnsh and #MirzapurTheMovie—both running without a big-screen A-lister in the cast, yet running simultaneously and delivering outstanding numbers—should serve as a wake-up call for the industry.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment. Rather than continuing past the television series finale, the story is set between Episodes 6 and 7 of Season 1 of the original series, giving fans a deeper dive into the early power dynamics, rivalries, and betrayals that shaped the Mirzapur empire. This timeline allows the production to reintroduce characters who perished in the series, bringing back Pankaj Tripathi as Kaleen Bhaiya, Ali Fazal as Guddu Pandit, and Divyenndu as Munna Tripathi alongside a large ensemble cast that includes Shweta Tripathi Sharma, Rasika Dugal, Jitendra Kumar, Ravi Kishan, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Abhishek Banerjee, Sonal Chauhan, Mohit Malik, Sushant Singh, Harshita Gaur, Rajesh Tailang, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda.

The Path Toward the Rs 300 Crore Milestone

With global figures sitting at Rs 266.04 crore following the 10-day mark, industry observers are tracking whether the feature can clear the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone. The film has maintained this trajectory despite the simultaneous release of competing projects in theatres, demonstrating sustained audience demand for the brutal, lawless world established by the original streaming property.
