On March 26, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Argentine Council of International Relations in Buenos Aires.

Minister Mirzoyan had a meeting with the chairman of the council Francisco de Santibanes and the management staff, after which Ararat Mirzoyan made a note in the guestbook of honor.

Next, a thorough discussion was held with the council members and guests with the participation of the head of the RA foreign political department. In his introductory speech, Ararat Mirzoyan referred to the dynamics of Armenia-Argentina interstate relations, the political dialogue agenda, the main directions with potential for the development of cooperation discussed within the framework of his visit and during previous high-level contacts.

Minister Mirzoyan noted that during the meetings he had expressed his gratitude for the valorization of the role of the Armenian community that was formed after the Armenian Genocide in Argentina at the beginning of the last century, as a result of which the Armenian presence today brings its own benefit to Argentina’s social and political life.

In the discussion and question-and-answer format, Minister Mirzoyan also referred to broader issues related to RA’s foreign policy and the security situation in the South Caucasus.

Regarding the RA’s foreign policy priorities, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that they are based on the goals of continuous strengthening of RA statehood, sovereignty, and ensuring a stable development environment for RA. Features and perspectives of the regulation of relations with neighboring countries, as well as interaction with other countries and structures with a wide geography, were presented.

Referring to the situation in the South Caucasus since 2020, Ararat Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the commitment to unequivocal recognition of territorial integrity and the 1991 The need to carry out the further process of demarcation based on the Alma-Ata declaration.

In the context of unblocking regional economic and transport channels, Minister Mirzoyan also referred to the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the RA government and the economic opportunities provided.
