Mizzou Arena Set for Major Overhaul with Expanded Courtside Seating

A redesigned Mizzou Arena promises an enhanced game-day experience for fans, beginning with the 2025-26 men’s and women’s basketball seasons. The changes, approved by the Southeastern Conference (SEC), will bring spectators closer to the action and amplify the arena’s already energetic atmosphere.
Enhanced Fan Experience Coming to Columbia
The University of Missouri is poised to unveil a significantly reconfigured seating arrangement at Mizzou Arena, aiming to elevate the fan experience and create a more intimidating environment for opposing teams. The renovations, slated for completion before the start of the 2025-26 seasons, will focus on maximizing space near the court and energizing the student section.
Key Changes to Arena Layout
Several key modifications are planned for the arena’s seating chart. The existing scorer’s table will be divided into three sections, creating space for eight additional courtside seats – four sets positioned near each team’s bench. Further enhancing proximity to the game, baseline seats will be added to the left and right of each basket.
A second “Tiger Row” will be constructed along the sideline opposite the team benches, providing premium viewing options. The popular “Mini Mizzou” student section will also be relocated to a more visible and prominent location above the visiting team tunnel. Perhaps the most impactful change will be the expansion of the student section, which will now span the entire width of the sections behind the basket.
“We’re thrilled to bring our fans even closer to the court,” stated Laird Veatch, University of Missouri Director of Athletics. “Between the new courtside seating, the prominent and elevated placement of Mini Mizzou and our passionate student section creating energy behind the basket, Mizzou Arena is going to feel more alive and intimidating than ever.”

Opportunities to experience Mizzou Arena are available immediately. Tickets for the men’s basketball exhibition game on Friday are available for $10 and can be purchased at THIS LINK. The women’s basketball team will host Maryville in a free exhibition game on Tuesday, Oct. 28. The women’s basketball regular season tips off on Monday, Nov. 3 against Central Arkansas, while the men’s basketball team will play its home opener on Friday, Nov. 7 against Southeast Missouri.
