Today, a lifetime later, a normal highway trip: the gaze wanders and stops on trailer-like vehicles of all shapes, colors and sizes. Below, hundreds of chickens run here and there, limited by a fence. Maybe Cornelia Funke’s girl group continues to trend, maybe city hipsters no longer buy vegetable gardens but caravans with feather beds. After all, all motorists have already seen them; they are everywhere: mobile chicken coops.
