‘Modi is the biggest influencer in India, those words will benefit the film industry’; Akshay Kumar

Actor Akshay Kumar praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Akshay Kumar said that Modi is the biggest influencer in India and his words will bring big changes. The actor also claimed that this is good for the film industry.

Last January 17, Prime Minister Modi had asked the BJP workers to refrain from making unnecessary remarks about films in the BJP National Executive Committee meeting. Modi is reported to have said that such remarks are affecting BJP’s development agenda. Akshay Kumar spoke in praise of Modi referring to this remark.

“If the Prime Minister has said something like this, then that positive thing should be welcomed. He is the most influential person in India. If changes happen because of what he said, it will be good for the film industry.”

“Things will definitely change. We have gone through a lot of bad situations. We make a film, the censor board sees it. They approve it. But when someone says something, there is a controversy. Now he (PM Modi) has responded to it. I think that is good for us” – ‘Selfie’ Akshay Kumar was speaking at the trailer launch of the film.

Selfie is the Hindi remake of ‘Driving Licensee’ which hit the theaters with Suraj Venjaramood – Prithviraj combo. Driving License, written by Sachi and directed by Lal Jr. was released in 2019. Produced by Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames, the film was a huge hit at the theatres.

Selfie is produced by Prithviraj’s own Prithviraj Productions along with Listyn Stephen’s Magic Frames, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. This is the first Bollywood film to be produced by Prithviraj Productions.
