February remains a vibrant month for music lovers in Mar del Plata, with the Parque de Mogotes offering a diverse lineup of concerts and events throughout the month. The park, quickly becoming a central hub for musical gatherings, is hosting a series of performances blending cumbia, rock, and popular music in an open-air setting. This mega cierre de febrero, or grand February finale, promises something for everyone, building on the success of recent shows featuring The la Planta and Los Totora during the Carnival long weekend.

The Parque de Mogotes’ schedule kicks into high gear this Wednesday, February 18th, with a performance by Onda Sabanera, a well-known name in romantic tropical music. On Friday, February 20th, the park will host Attitude, a tribute band celebrated for its renditions of Guns N’ Roses, offering a free night of rock music. The park’s continued commitment to providing accessible entertainment is a key draw for local residents and visitors alike.

Freestyle, Cumbia, and Rock Take Center Stage

This event will showcase competitions in Freestyle, Breakdance, Beatbox, and Skateboarding, culminating in a performance by G Sony, a recognized singer, rapper, and freestyle champion. The energy of the afternoon will seamlessly transition into the evening with a performance by Rocío Quiroz, a popular figure in the cumbia scene. Attendees of the “Call Of Freestyle” event will gain free access to Quiroz’s show, while those arriving after 6:00 PM will be required to purchase a minimum consumption of 7000 pesos, redeemable for a beverage.

A Diverse Lineup Continues into March

Sunday, February 22nd, will see El Mono de Kapanga take the stage with their latest project, “Dúo Pardepe,” a musical collaboration with his son. The park’s programming extends into March, with Chili Fernández, a prominent figure in the tropical music scene, scheduled to perform on Wednesday, February 25th. Concluding the series on Sunday, March 1st, will be La Mississippi alongside Mala Sangre, a highly regarded tribute band to Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota, promising a special night for fans of Argentine rock.

For those planning to attend the shows on Saturday, February 21st (Rocío Quiroz show), Sunday, February 22nd, Wednesday, February 25th, and Sunday, March 1st, a minimum consumption of 7000 pesos is required for attendees over the age of 12, redeemable for a beverage upon entry.
