NoMohanlal released the book ‘India’s Money Heist: The Chelembra Bank Robbery’ by Ton and writer Anirban Bhattacharya. The book is based on the much-discussed Chelambra bank robbery in Kerala. Mohanlal said that it is a pleasure to release the book and the fact that the book is based on a crime solved by a team led by his dear friend Vijayan IPS and Inspector General of Police makes it even more special.

The Chelambra bank robbery case was unprecedented in the history of Kerala Police. The biggest heist in the state took place on December 29, 2007 at the South Malabar Grameena Bank in Chelampra. 80 kg of gold and 25 lakh rupees were stolen by the accused. 1999 I.P. S batch Kerala cadre officer P. Vijayan led the successful investigation of the notorious Chelampra bank robbery case.
