A new immersive art experience dedicated to Claude monet is set to open in Villeurbanne, near Lyon, on February 26, 2026, following the success of a similar exhibition focused on Van Gogh. The exhibit, “Monet: The Immersive Experience,” has already captivated a million visitors worldwide and promises to bring the world of the famed Impressionist painter to life for audiences in the Lyon area.
A Deep Dive into the Impressionist Movement
“Monet: The Immersive Experience” offers a unique prospect to explore the life, travels, and artistic secrets of Claude Monet, the founder and leading figure of the Impressionist movement. Through a 360º digital art installation, visitors will be invited to step inside Monet’s world, experiencing his genius from a wholly fresh viewpoint, according to Exhibition Hub and Fever.
Did you know? – Monet’s “impression, soleil levant” (Impression, Sunrise) gave the Impressionist movement its name after a critic used the term derisively in 1874. The name stuck,and a new art era was born.
The exhibition will feature digital mapping, reconstructions of Monet’s workshop, and recreations of his iconic gardens at Giverny.Attendees will follow a curated path tracing “the life and sources of inspiration of Claude Monet,” all accompanied by an original orchestral score.

“Monet: The Immersive Experience” will be open daily except on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets are priced from €9.90 for children and €14.90 for adults. The immersive experience lasts approximately one hour.
