Doctors say that monkey measles can become serious in six to 13 days and the disease can last for 2 to 4 weeks. . Although monkey measles can affect people of all ages, doctors warn that people who are malnourished, have co-morbidities, have low immunity, women who are engaged in sex work, and homosexuals are more susceptible to the disease.

In the instructions issued by the government, it has been said that if any symptoms of monkey measles are seen, they should be isolated and tested. Stay away from all animals, including domestic animals, not just monkeys. It is noteworthy that the World Health Organization has already advised that following corona preventive measures including maintaining personal distance, keeping hands clean, not touching the nose and mouth frequently, wearing a face mask, will protect you from monkey measles.
