Thiruvananthapuram: The state has announced further relaxation of Kovid restrictions. Ritual art forms will be allowed at festivals. 300 people were allowed to participate in public events. Up to 200 people can attend the wedding and funeral. The decision was taken at the Kovid review meeting.
Various deities, among others, had demanded that concessions be declared for the festivals. As part of this, it was decided to allow ceremonial art forms at festivals. If political, social and cultural events are held in public places, 300 people will be allowed. Only 150 people are allowed in halls or rooms. At the same time, full-time work in schools may not be immediate.
Particular attention in districts with low vaccination rates
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that special attention should be paid to increase vaccination in Palakkad, Malappuram and Kozhikode districts where Kovid vaccination rates are low. Kovid directed the concerned district collectors in this regard at the review meeting.
In the state, 97 per cent people received the first dose and 70 per cent the second dose. The second dose is expected to be given to 70 lakh people. The Chief Minister directed the Health Department to complete it as soon as possible.
Clusters should be detected in the Omicron context. There, the genetic makeup should be increased. In Ernakulam, all the 36 people associated with the Omicron confirmed patient are in isolation.
