Damascus: More than 100 people have been killed in a fierce clash between Kurdish militants and IS militants in Syria. The dominance of repressed IS militants in Syria has increased again with the help of US forces. The IS movement is raising its hand in areas controlled by Kurdish militants in northeastern Syria. In the wake of this, IS militants carried out a surprise attack on a prison where 3,500 people, including leaders of the IS terrorist organization, were being held in the Kurdish-controlled city of Hasaka.

The Kurdish forces retaliated by preventing them from entering the prison. A fierce gun battle ensued between the two sides. IS militants shot dead 77 people in a clash that lasted more than 4 hours. Thirty-nine members of the Kurdish army were killed in the attack. The Kurdish forces say the attack was carried out by militants in an attempt to overthrow the Hasaka prison and escape key IS operatives there.
