Berlin The federal government is providing around 212 billion euros by 2027 for the green conversion of the economy and the settlement of new companies with a view to the transformation. This emerges from the new budget for the climate and transformation fund (KTF), which is available to the Handelsblatt and which the federal government approved on Wednesday.

“We are laying the foundations so that future opportunities can arise from decarbonization and digitization,” explained Finance Minister Christian Lindner. “We don’t leave people and companies alone.”
In the course of the new budget, the Federal Government has also cleared up a number of points of contention. In 2024, for example, the CO2 price is set to rise from the current 30 to 40 euros per tonne emitted and then reach 65 euros in 2026. The increase makes refueling and heating more expensive. Lindner called the adjustment moderate: “We have to proceed with a sense of proportion when pricing CO2, especially in view of the current weakness in growth.”
