More than 250 students and twenty companies at the Employment Fair of the Chamber of Sant Feliu

The Chamber of Commerce of Sant Feliu de Guíxols celebrated on Thursday the II Employment Fairaimed at young people from 16 to 29 years. More than 250 students and twenty companies took part. The young people received practical information about the profiles that companies usually hire and the specialized training programs with work trips, with experts in occupational guidance.

Most of the young people were Institute students and had the opportunity to participate in numerous activities: conferences, Canva workshops to create your CVworkshops of Social Networks… They also maintained interviews with a temporary work company (ETT), which allowed them to present theirs resumesI will be able to watch sessions with a coach to learn the best way to pass an interview.

The fair was divided into the three floors of the Chamber building. In the Companies area, sectors such as tourism i the hotel industry, the aesthetics i the hairdresser, water sports i adventurehe hydraulic sector, the real estate companies o local businesses i non-profit foundations. Also a temporary work company and the Employment Service of Catalonia (SOC). In this space, each company presented its job offers and held interviews with interested young people.

The students also attended live demonstrations of some trades, with upholstery professionals, clothing design and textile accessories – with new and recycled materials, to highlight the circular economy – as well as with a basket maker with creations in rattan indoor and outdoor spaces, make-up and beauty and hairdressing demonstrations, and a watchmaker, the first student of the Clock Space of the Chamber of Sant Feliu de Guíxols.

The importance of Employment Fairs lies in the fact that the youth of the demarcation of the Chamber -Sant Feliu de GuíxolsSanta Cristina d’Aro, Castell-Platja d’Aro, Llagostera, Cassà de la Selva, Vidreres and Sea Cough-, they can know, first hand, the opportunities to find work.
