More than 30 pilot whales have died after being stranded on a remote beach on the southern island of Tasmania, in Australia, where these strandings are frequent, authorities reported this Wednesday.

The Tasmanian Department of Environment and Natural Resources said the first dead animals were found on eve on the Freycinet peninsula, an isolated coastal area on the east of the island.
