The anti-smuggling department of the RA State Revenue Committee continues its relentless fight against the illegal transportation of narcotics and psychotropic substances across the border of the Republic of Armenia.
The other day, the employees of the “Zvartnots” department of the anti-smuggling department of the committee and the “AMU release” department jointly subjected the international courier consignment imported from the USA to Armenia to customs control in the customs control zone of the “Kargo” cargo complex. In addition to personal items, 5 glass containers with a total weight of 1085 grams were found, which were filled with the drug “hashish oil”.
In the mentioned case of smuggling, the employees of the operational intelligence department of the Anti-Smuggling Department, after receiving the courier from the vicinity of the office of the postal transportation company, arrested an RA citizen. After being transferred to the anti-smuggling department, the latter was subjected to a personal search accompanying the arrest, after which the citizen was transferred to the main department of the investigation of economic crimes and smuggling of the RA Investigative Committee. As part of the initiated criminal proceedings, the latter was arrested.
As a result of the conducted studies, information was obtained that the arrested person is connected with several other subscribers who always receive deliveries through the same carrier.
Information was received that there may be narcotics in the international courier consignment imported from the USA to Armenia. This information was provided by the employees of the operational intelligence department to the employees of the “Zvartnots” department, who subjected the cargo to customs inspection in the customs control zone of the cargo complex of the Zvartnots airport. In addition to the children’s blackboard, 4 packages containing 2 kg of “marijuana” drug masses were found.
Upon leaving the transport company’s office after receiving the parcel, RA citizen A. was arrested and transferred to the State Anti-Smuggling Department. P., where the latter was subjected to a personal search accompanying the arrest.
Under the supervision of the employees of SRC anti-smuggling department and NSS economic security and anti-corruption main department, within the framework of the measures taken, the arrested AP contacted the Telegram user from his own Telegram account and informed the latter that he had received the delivery. Telegram user transferred AMD 80,000 to AP to transport the said courier and hand it over to another person. The identity of the sender from the USA has been revealed. after handing it over, RA citizen A. was arrested and transferred to SRC anti-smuggling department. S. It was found out that there is another shipment sent under the name of the latter, and as a result of the inspection, the employees of the anti-smuggling department of the RA SRC and the main department of economic security and anti-corruption of the National Security Agency of the RA found a mass similar to the “marijuana” drug weighing about 2 kg.
Information was also received that A. from the USA. Narcotics are also present in 2 international courier parcels imported under the name of P. Among them were found derivatives of narcotics of the MDMA type, weighing 950 and 970 grams, and “marijuana” type narcotics with a total weight of 1.2 kg.
In another episode, information was received that it will be imported to Armenia from the USA by the same sender as an international courier. The employees of the operational intelligence department of SRC anti-smuggling department took urgent operative-investigative measures in this case of smuggling. As a result, after receiving the masses of narcotics of “marijuana”, “hashish” and “hashish oil” types, 2 RA citizens were arrested in Gyumri city and transferred to the anti-smuggling department of the RA SRC.
More than 5.5 kg of “Marijuana” drug, 1.3 kg of “hashish oil” drug, 0.5 kg of “hashish” drug and 1.9 kg of MDMA drug derivatives were taken out of illegal circulation in these 5 cases.
The operative-investigative measures taken by the employees of the anti-smuggling department of the RA SRC and the main department of economic security and anti-corruption of the RA NSS are continuing in order to find out the scope of other possible persons involved in the aforementioned illegal drug trafficking.
