WAbout 5,000 cranes have died of bird flu in the Hula Valley in Israel.
Authorities say it is the worst wildlife disaster in history and have ordered the killing of thousands of chickens to prevent the spread of bird flu.
The birds, which migrate to Africa every winter, usually stay in the waters of the Hula Valley.
In that regard, officials said that this time around 30,000 cranes were staying and more than 5,000 of them had died.
Bird flu is more likely to be exacerbated if birds, including eagles, have dead cranes, and the task of removing the birds is being carried out safely.
