A recent survey conducted by Andi in collaboration with Invamer has revealed that more than 60% of Colombian citizens believe that the country’s health system requires significant adjustments.

The results, published this Wednesday, show that 65% of those surveyed consider it necessary to make changes to the current system, while 32% advocate a total change. Only a small 2% think that the system should remain unchanged.

This data reflects an annual increase in 7% compared to the perception of Colombians who think that the health system needs some adjustments, indicating a growing demand for changes. In turn, 32% of those surveyed maintain a firm position in favor of a radical change in the system, showing stability in this perspective.

In an interesting twist, 59% of Colombians expressed their disagreement with the elimination of Health Promotion Entities (EPS) and the transfer of its functions to a state entity.

This result marked a 4% drop compared to the previous year, suggesting that public opinion is undergoing changes in relation to the State’s management of health.

The survey reflects a Colombian society divided in its opinions about the direction the health system should take, posing challenges and continuous debates in this important sector.
