More than half a billion dollars were stolen from the world’s largest crypto exchange

The company Binance, which operates the largest crypto exchange in the world in terms of trading volume, announced at the end of the week that it had identified a security breach in the bridge that connects two blockchains and allowed hackers to withdraw its BNB type crypto coins from the system.

The initial estimate was that the amount stolen was 100-150 million dollars, but later it turned out that the company lost about 2 million BNB coins, the estimated value of which is 570 million dollars.

Due to the breach, Binance suspended trading on the stock exchange for two days and announced that it had the help of security experts and developers to close the security holes.
This is not the first case of hacking a crypto company. Last August, Nomad, a service that allows users to send cryptocurrencies between different blockchains, lost about 200 million dollars. A hack also took place on the Harmoni transfer service last June and the amount stolen is estimated at 100 million dollars.
