Moroccan sports delegation parades at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Paris – Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which took place on Friday evening on boats along the Seine.

Mr. Akhannouch was accompanied by the ambassador of HM the King in Paris, Samira Sitail.

During a colorful ceremony, the Moroccan sports delegation paraded aboard a large boat on a six-kilometer course along the legendary Parisian river amid cheers and cheers from the public.

The national flag was raised high during this parade by golfer Ines Laklalech and rider Yassine Rahmouni, in accordance with a tradition now anchored in the regulations of the International Olympic Committee to entrust the carrying of the flag to a mixed duo.

Morocco is preparing to write a new chapter in its Olympic history with 60 athletes present for these Summer Olympics (July 26 to August 11).

The national sports delegation, made up of 42 men and 18 women, will participate in 19 disciplines.
