Morocco/Mauritania: Audiovisual regulators seal their partnership

Furthermore, Ms. Akharbach hosted, in front of an audience of representatives of Mauritanian audiovisual operators and press officials, a conference on the challenges of digital transformation for the audiovisual media economy, a theme which is among the areas of joint reflection provided for by the agreement.

During her visit to Nouakchott at the invitation of her Mauritanian counterpart, Ms. Akharbach also held a series of exchange and consultation sessions concerning the upcoming deadlines of the multilateral networks of regulators in which the two bodies are members.

These include the Network of African Communication Regulatory Bodies of which HACA chairs for the period 2023-2024, the Francophone Network of Media Regulators, as well as the Forum of State Audiovisual Regulatory Authorities members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The HACA delegation was also made up of the Director General of HACA, Benaïssa Asloun, the Secretary of the High Council for Audiovisual Communication, Imad Meniari, and the Manager of African Affairs within the body, Talal Salahdine.
