Looking at the data on requests at provincial level, it’s evident that the area with the highest average amount detected is Palermo (121,825 euros), followed by Catania (114,192 euros).
Positive signs are emerging for the world of mortgages for home purchases in Sicily. According to the analysis by Facile.it and Mutui.it, the request for financing increased by 13% in the first four months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The average amount requested also grew again, reaching 113,736 euros (+2.6%), and the average value of the properties subject to the mortgage (166,992 euros, +1%).

Values lower than the regional average were recorded for Ragusa (111,014 euros), Trapani (109,321 euros), Messina (109,063 euros), Agrigento (108,008 euros) and Siracusa (106,476 euros). Enna (102,270 euros) and Caltanissetta (98,400 euros) close the ranking.
Requests for surrogacy are also growing, driven by the favorable conditions offered by banks for fixed rates. Between January and April 2024, this type of request represented 21% of the Sicilian total, an increase of almost 5 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year.
