Moscow authorities want to launch payment for metro fares with the help of a person before the end of the year

In Moscow, payment for travel in the metro with the help of a person should appear at all stations by the end of the year, said Deputy Mayor for Transport Maxim Liksutov. Now Face Pay is being tested on employees and partners of the service. According to the deputy mayor, passengers will be able to choose between Face Pay and other fare payment methods.

“By the end of the year, we want to launch Face Pay at all stations without exception … How exactly everything happens. You stop at the right side turnstile, usually it is selected for testing, the system recognizes you, in a second and a half it debits money from a Troika card or from a bank card, and you walk through without touching anything, without taking out your phone or card, nothing, ”Mr. Liksutov told RIA Novosti.

Testing has been going on for several months. Participants in test focus groups left their biometric data and linked their bank cards.

Experts previously told Kommersant about the possible risks in the implementation of the system. Among them are data processing delays, which can lead to crowds at the turnstiles. According to Kommersant’s information, closed testing has shown that the face recognition system passes passengers faster than a traditional turnstile with transport cards.
