The galley season continues for Fabio Quartararo. After just two corners of the Spanish Grand Prix, the Yamaha rider had a pretty impressive crash with Portugal’s Miguel Oliveira. In 16th position on the starting grid, the Frenchman found himself at the heart of the peloton, where it is harder to maneuver. On the ground after a violent impact, the Frenchman took a few seconds to get up, before finally walking – limping – towards the pits.

Due to this fall, the race was immediately stopped by red flag. If Oliveira was apparently knocked out and was unable to make the new start, Fabio Quartararo was declared “fit” by the medical teams. Despite a right ankle which seems to be hurting him, the Frenchman got back on his Yahama to take part in the second start.

After experiencing disappointing results in the first two Grand Prix of the season (8th and 7th), Fabio Quartararo achieved a podium (3rd) in the last race in the United States. But a qualifying session and a failed sprint race at the start of the Spanish weekend left him with little hope for this Grand Prix in Jerez.
