The group’s management confirmed the end of the strike, without making further comments.
The CGT strikers at the TotalEnergies refinery in Feyzin (Rhône), the last still affected by the movement started on September 27 in the country’s refineries and oil depots, announced on Tuesday that they had suspended their movement. “Suspension of the movement in the Feyzin shipping department today at 3 p.m. after 42 days of strike”wrote to the press in a brief message Pedro Afonso, CGT union representative in the shipping department, signing the end of the movement in the refineries which had caused difficulties in the supply of fuel throughout the country.

Contacted by AFP, Pedro Afonso could not be reached to provide further details. The management of the group confirmed for its part to AFP the end of the strike, without making further comments. A meeting was held Thursday at the refinery between the CGT strikers and management, but it did not help to sort out the situation, according to the union. “A Future Talk” is «promise» by management when “the strike will be lifted”Pedro Afonso told AFP at the time, lamenting that the discussions did not “nothing” given on wage demands.
The central management of TotalEnergies had for its part recalled that for it the negotiations were “completed” since a “Majority agreement on wages was signed on October 14 with trade unions» CFDT and CFE-CGC. She also believed that “the Feyzin refinery” was not on strike, “given that there was no» that 5 strikers on the site which has 600 people and that “expeditions were working” without requisitions. On November 2, the strike was lifted at the Gonfreville refinery (Seine-Maritime), where the movement started by the CGT on September 27 had also continued.
