MOYEN-OGOOUÉ: Raising awareness among young people about post-election violence

August 24, 2023

As a prelude to the upcoming general elections, running mate Laeticia Carmella Diweckou launched, this Thursday, August 24 in Lambaréné, an awareness campaign for young people in Moyen-Ogooué on post-election abuse. “No to post-election violence” is the theme chosen to prevent possible damage linked to the elections.

Less than a few hours before the general elections scheduled for August 26 in Gabon, an awareness campaign for elections without violence was launched this Thursday in Lambaréné, at the initiative of Laeticia Carmella Diweckou of the Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG). This campaign is based on a key message, namely: “No to post-election violence“. A strong message sent to political actors on all sides, to the Gabonese population in general, and particularly to young people from Migove.

« This is an awareness campaign for peaceful elections. We would like to remind everyone to put the best interests of the nation first. “Let know the initiator.

To better convey the message and obtain the active participation of young people, the said awareness campaign took place around a few sports activities, in a space conducive to the civic education of the citizen. It is in memory of the dramatic actions produced in the past that this initiative is born.

It should be recalled that in December 2022, the Gabonese government had opened a reflection whose aim was to prevent possible violence during the general elections. A campaign on the theme Zero breakage in 2023 was launched by the Minister of Communication Pascal Houangni Ambouroue. As if to say that the citizen act posed by the running mate Laeticia Diweckou in Lambaréné, is none other than a continuation of the vision of the Head of State Ali Bongo Ondimba, who advocates peace.
