In essence, the Constitutional Court rejected the petition submitted by candidate pair 01 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and candidate pair 03 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

Based on the Constitutional Court’s decision, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) issued the following statement:

1. Respect the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the dispute over the results of the 2024 Presidential and Vice Presidential Election (Pilpres). MUI believes that this decision has gone through a correct, honest and accountable judicial process.

Deputy Chairperson of the MUI Wantim Zainut Tauhid Sa’adi said that because the Constitutional Court’s decision was final and binding, there were no other legal remedies that could be taken by the parties afterwards.

“We hope that the Constitutional Court’s decision can resolve all disputes and all existing differences. MUI hopes that all parties can accept the Constitutional Court’s decision sincerely and with relief,” said Zainut in a short message to JPNN.com, Tuesday (23/4).

2. With the completion of the 2024 election process, the MUI appeals to the entire community to unite again. It should not be divided, or create groups and camps. Everyone must return to harmony and work together to build the nation.

3. The MUI appeals to political party leaders, community and religious figures to continue to provide good education and role models, to re-establish the values ​​of unity and brotherhood, so that the Indonesian nation becomes a harmonious, united, just, prosperous and progressive nation.
