Mumford & Sons are embarking on a substantial North American tour in 2026, marking a significant moment for fans of the British folk-rock band. The tour, supporting their newly released album Prizefighter, will include landmark stadium performances at Wrigley Field in Chicago on June 11 and Fenway Park in Boston on June 22 – firsts for the band. Tickets for the general public proceed on sale February 27, according to the band’s website.
The release of Prizefighter, out today, February 20, through Glassnote, is accompanied by a wave of excitement, fueled in part by collaborations with a diverse range of artists. Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, and Gigi Perez all contribute to the album, alongside the return of Aaron Dessner, who previously worked with Mumford & Sons on their 2015 chart-topping album, Wilder Mind. The band also recently released a video for “The Banjo Song,” featuring dancers from events organized by Streets of Soul, a club night company based in Bristol, U.K.
The tour kicks off June 2 in Vancouver, British Columbia, and will encompass arenas, amphitheaters, and festival appearances, including Hinterland in St. Charles, Iowa on August 1 and Bourbon & Beyond in Louisville, Kentucky on September 25. A robust lineup of supporting acts will join Mumford & Sons on various legs of the tour, including CAAMP, Lord Huron, Sierra Ferrell, Marcus King Band, Dylan Gossett, and Medium Build.
The collaboration with Aaron Dessner appears to have been a particularly organic one. Dessner shared on Instagram that he hadn’t seen the band since before the pandemic, but reconnected with them at New York’s Electric Lady studios in May 2024. “We were all there to work on different projects but caught up and I shared song ideas and sketches I had been making…and we quickly realized this was our moment to finally make an album together,” he wrote. He described the process as feeling like he “got to join their band for a year,” with songs coming “quickly and fearlessly.”
Dessner also highlighted the emotional resonance of certain tracks, specifically mentioning “Conversation with My Son” as “one of the most emotionally meaningful songs I’ve ever been a part of making.” He even noted contributing an acoustic guitar solo inspired by the legendary Jerry Garcia.
