Chennai: Director and sound artist S.V. Raman (87) passed away. Former famous film director K. He is the son of Subramanian and the grandfather of present music director Anirudh Ravichander.

During Doordarshan’s infancy, advertisement production in South India was controlled by S.V. It was Jayashree Pictures started by Ramanan. He made commercials for all the leading brands of that time. And gave voice to them. Known as the ‘Owner of the Silver Tongue’, Raman’s radio programs had many fans.

Ramanan, who has directed many programs for television, directed the film ‘Uravavs Maralam’ in 1983. Suhasini and Y.G. Mahendran also played the lead role in the film and Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan were guest stars. Ramanan, who composed and directed the music for this film, also directed the films Manyam and Duraibabu.
