The CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced yesterday (Sunday) that the company has increased the price of its advanced driving software – FSD (Full Self Driving) by 25% starting in September. Installing the software in Tesla vehicles today costs $12,000 and will climb to $15,000. Musk announced the planned price increase, of course, on his Twitter account.

After wide release of FSD Beta 10.69.2, price of FSD will rise to $15k in North America on September 5th.

All new Tesla vehicles come with a built-in ‘autopilot’ mode, a kind of lean version of theFSD, while for the full system, vehicle owners are required to purchase it or alternatively pay a subscription fee of $199 per month. Musk did not indicate whether the subscription route of the software will also become more expensive.
