Mumbai: Match referee Andy Pycroft reported to the International Cricket Council on the pitches in Nagpur and New Delhi, where the first two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series were played. Pitches are rated average. India won both Tests in three days.
Pitches are rated as not very good, good, average, below average, poor and unplayable. No demerit points will be charged for Nagpur and Delhi venues as they fall under average category. Points will be deducted for venues in the last three categories.
