FBI Seeks Ring Footage in Disappearance of Nancy Guthrie Near Tucson
Investigators are broadening their search for Nancy Guthrie, who was reported missing after being dropped off at her home in the Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson, on January 31. Authorities are now requesting Ring doorbell camera footage from residents in the area, focusing on two key dates in January, as the investigation intensifies.
Expanding Search: A Focus on Surveillance Footage
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are appealing to homeowners with Ring cameras to share footage from January 11, between 9 p.m. and midnight, and January 31, between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. This request comes as agents conduct an extensive ground search and canvass the neighborhood, seeking any clues related to Guthrie’s disappearance.
According to reports from CNN affiliates KVOA and KOLD, a suspicious vehicle was observed around 10 a.m. on January 31 on Via Entrada, a road near Guthrie’s residence. While a description of the vehicle has not been released, its presence has prompted investigators to prioritize footage from that timeframe.
Community Cooperation and Intensive Investigation
A local resident told CNN they were aware of the request for Ring footage, indicating a widespread effort to gather potential evidence. “People are cooperating and trying to help in any way they can,” the resident stated.
On Wednesday, numerous FBI agents were observed conducting a thorough search along roads near Guthrie’s home. Agents were seen knocking on doors, requesting access to surveillance cameras, and meticulously examining the area for any discarded items that might offer leads.
