After a long break, legendary musician and composer Naqeeb Khan performed with Souls again. After 40 years, the star of the Renaissance band recently participated in the ‘Gane Gane Bangladesh’ concert held in London. In this concert, Naqeeb performed with Khan’s former band Souls. Naqeeb Khan said, I have done many programs in the country with artists and musicians of Souls. But sharing the stage with his old band overseas after four decades was a different experience altogether. More importantly, the entire event was to aid in the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims of the country. That is why this event will be memorable. Souls vocalist Partha Barua and other members have expressed similar fondness to Naqeeb Khan.
Naqeeb Khan started his journey in the world of music with the band Souls in the seventies. He is the composer of several timeless songs including Souls’ ‘Mann Jor Man Chuchenhe’, ‘Tore Putul Ke Khe Sajiye’. Besides, he has won the love of the audience with his voice in several songs. After leaving Souls, he formed another new band called Renaissance. He is still singing for Renaissance. Still, his love for Souls has not diminished, as he proved by performing with Souls at the ‘Gane Gane Banglade’ concert in London.
Palash, Atiq Hasan, Avanti Sinthi, Amit, Ina Khan, Farzana Bithi and some other young artists also performed in this event.
