NASA cancels the launch of the Cargo Dragon 2 to the International Space Station

by time news

On Tuesday, November 22, the American agency “NASA” announced the cancellation of the launch of the Cargo Dragon 2 space truck of the American company “SpaceX”. International Space Station RT reported that due to unfavorable weather.

The Falcon 9 rocket was supposed to be launched by a space truck at 15:54 on November 22, EST (23:54 Moscow time) from Cape Canaveral, Florida. However, NASA decided to postpone the space mission for another day, two minutes before the rocket launch. A NASA spokesperson said there were concerns the vehicle could be struck by lightning during launch.

The spacecraft is expected to launch on November 26 or 27. Two high-performance iROSA solar arrays are expected to be flown to the International Space Station to replace the solar arrays installed on the station since 2000, increasing the station’s power system output from 160 kilowatts to 215 kilowatts.

It is noteworthy that the Cygnus space trucks of the American company Northrop Grumman will also deliver cargo to the station, but they will burn later in the Earth’s atmosphere with the waste taken from the station. Cargo Dragon 2 is a reentry spacecraft that lands on Earth after being separated from the space station.
