NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg has said that NATO leaders are preparing to supply Ukraine with chemical and nuclear weapons.

Russia, which has opposed Ukraine’s joining NATO, launched a war on Ukraine on February 24. Russia has been attacking Ukraine by air and sea. As a result, more than 1 crore refugees have been displaced from Ukraine so far. Most of them have taken refuge in neighboring countries.

This bo has reached a month. However, despite repeated Russian attacks on the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, the city has not yet been fully captured by Russian forces. It is said that Russia’s goal has not yet been reached.

At this juncture, US President Joe Biden left for Europe on Wednesday on a four-day visit. Through this visit, it is said that it can consult with European countries to impose additional sanctions on Russia and come forward to provide additional military assistance to Ukraine.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg says a NATO emergency meeting chaired by US President Joe Biden will be held in Brussels on Thursday (March 24) to discuss Russian forces’ attack on Ukraine.

In it, the NATO leaders are expected to agree at the summit to provide “additional support” for Ukraine, including equipment and cyber security assistance to “protect against chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.”

He said this was the first attempt by NATO member states to send supplies, especially to Ukraine, to counter weapons of mass destruction amid growing fears in Ukraine.

Prior to his departure for Europe, Joe Biden had said that the “real threat” to Russia was that “any use of chemical weapons would completely change the nature of the conflict and have far-reaching consequences.”

Biden, who left for Brussels at 9pm local time on Wednesday, said he would consult with European countries to increase support for Kiev at the NATO summit and impose additional sanctions on Russia.

Jens Stoltenberg said the NATO alliance was expected to agree to set up four NATO force groups in Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovakia and Romania to prevent further Russian occupation.
