The Human essence in the AI Era
Speaking at the ‘DAN25’ integrated conference in Seoul on Thursday, a senior Naver official emphasized that the core of content creation will remain fundamentally human, even as AI tools become increasingly elegant. “The role of content in the AI era ultimately lies with peopel,” the official stated. “In the AI era, we need to focus more on human essence and desires.”
This beliefs underscores Naver’s strategy to leverage AI not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a powerful tool to amplify it. The company envisions a future where content consumption itself becomes “the most creative human behavior,” with technology serving as the enabler.
AI-Driven Content Creation: From Live Sports to Virtual Concerts
Naver is already demonstrating the potential of its Media Understanding AI technology. The company highlighted the ability to automatically recognize key moments in live sporting events – such as a World Cup match – and generate highlight reels tailored to the style of popular streamers. This automated editing extends to multi-viewpoint content, which can be condensed into short-form videos for distribution across Naver’s platforms, including Naver Main, Sports Feed, and clip Feed.
According to the company, this streamlined process will not only increase fan engagement but also unlock new revenue streams for creators through real-time interaction, donations, and support.
Beyond sports,Naver is exploring immersive experiences across various content formats. The company cited the example of a virtual concert by Czizyk’s Virtual Creator Group, where fans equipped with XR devices could experience the performance as if they were physically present, with the show dynamically responding to audience creativity and reactions.

Building on last year’s collaboration with Netflix,Naver is now pursuing partnerships with Nexon and Spotify to create fully immersive experiences. A key component of this strategy involves linking Naver and Nexon accounts and payment systems, allowing viewers to seamlessly transition from streaming content to playing the corresponding game, with game footage automatically becoming shareable streaming content.
Unreal Engine and Digital Twins Power Hyper-Realism
Naver is investing heavily in technologies like Unreal Engine-based 3D rendering and digital twin technology to revolutionize content production across movies, shopping, and live performances. The company recently launched an XR platform in partnership with Samsung and Google, providing creators with the tools to bring their imaginations to life.
“It is indeed critically important to ensure that AI is used as a tool for creators rather than as the center of technology,” a company representative emphasized. “These technologies will serve as true assistants to help creators’ imaginations.”
Naver’s aspiring vision signals a significant shift in the content landscape, prioritizing creator empowerment and immersive experiences in the age of AI.
