# NBA Rocked by Arrests in Sports Betting and Gambling Investigation

Rozier and Damon Jones, a former NBA player and assistant coach with the Cleveland Cavaliers, were arrested in connection with multiple instances of illegal sports betting.
The NBA swiftly responded, assuring the FBI of its full cooperation. “We take thes allegations extremely seriously. The integrity of our game remains our top priority,” the league stated. As a direct consequence,both Billups and Rozier have been instructed to immediately step away from their respective teams.
Players Released on bail,Further Court Dates Loom
Both Billups and Rozier were arrested and later released on bail after appearing in court. However, Billups is scheduled to appear in federal court in New York on November 24th. Rozier, appearing in federal court in Orlando, Florida, following his team’s season opener, was notably seen in handcuffs and ankle shackles, wearing a shirt from his former team, the Charlotte Hornets.
