New Delhi ∙ The gang of fraud by offering medical seats has been arrested. The group offers deals ranging from impersonating and writing the NEET exam to securing seats. The CBI has arrested eight members of the group operating in different states.

The fraud took place in the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana. The exam was written by experts impersonating the students. 5 lakhs to be paid to the person appearing for the exam. The group charges a total of Rs 20 lakh per seat. The rest of the money goes to middlemen and others to secure seats. Six answer sheets written in impersonation were also seized.

The investigation team found that Sushil Rajan was behind the gang. He is the one who hired people to impersonate and make money transactions. It was also found that there were 11 people in the group. The investigation team will also talk to the students. Interventions of training centers are also being monitored.

Huge arrangements were made in the exam centers to prevent cheating. But despite all this, others wrote the exam instead of the students. Several illegal transactions including photo morphing and changing the examination center were also found. The NEET exam was conducted on July 17.
