Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airey made a record of hitting 6 sixes in one over as the third batsman in international T20. After Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard, Dipendra brought up the following name in the unique record book of hitting 6 sixes in 6 balls.

Such an incident happened in ACC Men’s Premier Cup cricket on Saturday. Dipendra simply bowled the host bowler Kamran Khan at the Al Emirates Cricket Ground in Oman.

The moment came in the 20th over of the innings. Dipendra in batting, Kamran in bowling. The 35-year-old Kamran had no plans to bowl in this match. Oman pacer Amir Farooq walked off the field after bowling the second ball of his second over. Medium pacer Kamran came in to bowl in the 18th over to complete his over. Earlier, he bowled only 2 innings in 33 T20Is. Batting is his real job.

Coming to the bowling, Kamran gave 6 runs in 4 balls and the captain got confidence. So he gave the ball to him to finish the last over of the innings. But that’s where everything goes wrong. Dipendra scored 28 runs in 15 balls then in a striking role. Nepal runs 174 for 7 wickets.

The picture of the scoreboard changed in the last over. As 36 runs were added, the score was tied at 210. Dipendra’s 64 off 21 balls, 7 sixes and 3 fours.

Yuvraj Singh hit 6 sixes off 6 balls against Stuart Broad in Durban in the 2007 T20 World Cup. That was the first incident in T20 International. Kieron Pollard hit Sri Lanka’s Akila Dhananjaya for 6 sixes in 2021. This time Dipendra achieved the same feat.

Earlier, Dipendra hit 6 sixes in 6 consecutive balls. He hit 6 sixes in his first 6 balls against Mongolia in 2023 Asian Games. But he did not own the record that day as he faced 6 balls in two overs.

Dipendra scored a fifty off just 9 balls that day which is the fastest in T20 history. Left behind the records of Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle and Hazratullah Zazai. Each of them got a fifty in 12-ball T20Is.
