Netanyahu provokes Lula and funds a trip for Tarcísio, Castro and Caiado to Israel; Bolsonaro asks Moraes

In a clear gesture of provocation to President Lula, the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, will pay for the trip of the governors of São Paulo, Tarcísio Gomes de Freitas (Republicans), and Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (União) to the country.

The Zionist government also invited Cláudio Castro (Republicans), who should also be part of the delegation. Romeu Zema (Novo), from Minas Gerais, who signals his approach to the federal government, refused the offer.

Netanyahu invited the governors and Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to visit the colony attacked by Hamas on October 7, which generated the disproportionate reaction of Palestinian genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The former president revealed that he received Netanyahu’s invitation last Friday (8) during a speech at the Caminho das Árvores Baptist Church, in Salvador.

“I recently received a letter from the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu – who, incidentally, is also an Army captain -, inviting me to visit his country, so that I can go to that region of conflict, or rather, of massacre , of cowardice, the region of terrorism practiced by Hamas against Israel”, he said.

Bolsonaro, however, is awaiting a decision from Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). With his passport confiscated by the Federal Police, to avoid fleeing the country amid investigations into the coup attempt, lawyers asked the minister for authorization for the former president to leave the country.

The trip comes after Israel declared Lula “persona non grata” in the country. The diplomatic crisis was generated because of the Brazilian president’s statement, which compared the genocide of the Palestinian people by Zionists to the killing of Jews by Adolph Hitler in Nazi Germany.

Lula’s declaration brought the Zionist massacre to the center of the international relations agenda, with the majority of global leaders supporting the ceasefire defended by the Brazilian president.

On social media, Chancellor Israel Katz used seal diplomacy to pressure Lula to apologize for the statement. The president, however, stated that he will not do this and in new statements denounced the Israeli massacre in Gaza.

Bolsonaro, in turn, has used the declaration to garner support mainly among evangelicals, who defend a biblical Israel, which has nothing to do with Netanyahu’s Zionist government.

André Mendonça

At the end of January, political scientist André Lajst, one of the most notorious and vocal Zionists in the Brazilian public debate, led a delegation with the Brazilian Israeli Confederation (Conib) to visit the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, currently commanded by the far-right coalition by Benjamin Netanyahu.

Several members of the legal community were present, including the minister of the Federal Supreme Court, André Mendonça.

In addition to Mendonça, Conib and Lajst, the delegation included Antonio Saldanha Palheiro and Ricardo Villas Bôas Cueva, from the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), federal judge Marcus Abraham, the judge from the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ) and Fabio Uchôa Pinto Miranda Montenegro, in addition to José Coelho Ferreira, current minister and vice-president of the Superior Military Court (STM).

Upon returning from the trip, Mendonça changed the cover of his social network to an image showing several Israeli Hamas hostages with Hebrew text at the bottom.

“Men, women, babies and elderly people still kidnapped by Hamas”, says the text, inserted between photos of several hostages.

He also changed his profile photo to a black and white one, in a more somber tone.
