Fresh Berlin police arrested a 17-year-old from Milwaukee early Saturday morning following a chase involving a stolen vehicle, marking the culmination of a response to reported vehicle break-ins. Coachlight Dr. Around 4:19 a.m. As officers investigated, they attempted to stop a vehicle leaving the area, but the driver fled eastbound on Greenfield Avenue. After deploying tire deflation devices, police successfully stopped the vehicle near Greenfield Avenue and Vista View Drive, where the 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody. The vehicle was later confirmed as stolen out of Milwaukee, according to TMJ4 News.
Second Vehicle Flees, Suspects Remain at Large
The situation didn’t end with the first arrest. While officers were taking the 17-year-old into custody, they observed other individuals entering a vehicle near the original break-in location. A subsequent attempt to stop that vehicle too resulted in a chase, this time eastbound on I-94 for several miles. Police ultimately terminated the pursuit of the second vehicle, and the suspects remain at large, the NBPD stated. At least one vehicle was confirmed stolen as a result of the initial break-ins, with several others having been entered, according to reports.
Notably, police confirmed that no officers or suspects were injured during either pursuit. The 17-year-old suspect was transported to the Waukesha County Jail and is currently being held. Authorities also revealed that the teen had an existing warrant out of Milwaukee County related to a previous offense.
