WhatsApp Boosts User Control with Granular Chat Deletion Tools

According to a company release, when initiating a chat clear, WhatsApp now prompts users to confirm whether any saved, or “starred,” content should also be deleted. This safeguard prevents accidental loss of crucial information, facilitated by a redesigned dialog box for more intuitive selection.
The update is particularly beneficial for group chats, where media accumulation can be rapid. Users can now “tidy up” their conversations in a targeted manner, removing unwanted voice messages or stickers without losing the entirety of the chat log. “This function not only improves the overview, but also makes it easier to maintain the chat history,” one analyst noted.
WhatsApp is also working to create a more consistent user experience across platforms. While the delete option was previously available within chat info on iPhones, it is indeed now being rolled out to Android users, ensuring parity in functionality.
