Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was asked a question on public radio. “The third republic was formed on the basis of the Declaration of Independence. Are you proposing a new Constitution for the fourth republic?
“It is one of the ideas,” Pashinyan answered.
At the same time, he mentioned that his government is not changing the Constitution, but “is proposing to the people to change the Constitution”.
Pashinyan also announced that the people should decide the issue by voting, and they will not falsify the referendum.
“We have held dozens of elections in Armenia, let them show a case when we raised a question related to a ballot,” he said.
Nikol Pashinyan, by the way, did not clearly answer the question whether the changes to the Constitution were due to pressure from Azerbaijan. He only said that they talk about it a lot.
To remind, today the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev clearly stated that there will be peace with Armenia if Armenia changes its Constitution.
