New Delhi: Last year, the number of domestic air passengers increased to an all-time high of 15.2 crore. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has stated in the statistics released the day before yesterday:

By 2023, the number of air travelers to domestic cities has increased to 15.2 crore. This is the highest annual number ever. The number of domestic air passengers in 2019 was 14.4 crore before the impact of Corona.

In 2020, the flight service was also canceled for 2 months due to the curfew imposed to control the spread of corona virus infection. Due to this, the number of air passengers decreased to 6.3 crore in that year. Then it gradually increased to 8.4 crore in 2021 and 12.3 crore in 2022.

IndiGo has topped the list with 60.5 percent share of domestic air traffic by 2023. Tata Group, which includes 3 companies Air India (9.7%), Vistara (9.1%) and AIX Connect (7.2%), came second with 26 percent. SpiceJet accounted for 5.5%, Agasa Air 4.1% and others 3.9%. It says so.
