To guarantee timely, free and comprehensive care for people with disabilities, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) with the support of the National Council for the Equality of Disabilities (Conadis) builds the new Disability Qualification Manual, which will be used in the voluntary reassessments and requalifications. Therefore, if a disability percentage was previously obtained by CONADIS or the MSP, reclassification is not mandatory.
This process has complied with the validation of qualifying teams and health professionals from the Comprehensive Public Health Network, Complementary Private Network; in addition, delegates from the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion (MIES), academia and civil society organizations. And now, it will enter a phase of public consultation. The aim is to include input from various other disability-related sectors in the country.
