Last March, the logistics sector reached a new maximum in membership, reaffirming significant growth in this first quarter of 2024, thus the number of social security affiliates at the end of March 2024 places the sector with 1,055,950 affiliates, 11,634 affiliates more than in the month of February 2024. This is the best month of March for employment in the sector in the last three years.
The increase in membership is concentrated, once again, in workers in the general regime. Of the total number of affiliates this month, 842,258 belonged to the general regime and the remaining 213,692 belonged to the self-employed. In the general regime they increased by 10,756, which represents an increase of 1.29%. For its part, the use of autonomous also experienced an increase of 0.41%, with 878 new registrations. With these results, the participation of logistics freelancers in the total economy once again remained stable, at 20.2%.
All activities, except postal and postal services, increase their number of members. The growth stands out, for the second consecutive month, in air transport, with 1,406 more members, 3.23% more compared to February 2024, land transport with 6,218 new members, which represents an increase of 0.95% and the storage and activities related to transportation with 3,954 more members.
If we focus on the areas, practically all the autonomous communities provide positive data, highlighting the increase in Andalusia, the Community of Madrid, Catalonia and the Valencian Community.
